While we do love WordPress websites, sometimes it is more sensible to work in another platform.

When The Griffin Frome asked us to do a quick turnaround on a brand new website after a change of management, we sat down with them to figure out exactly what functionality they wanted now and in the future. 

They were already using SquareUp – a popular POS platform for the retail and hospitality sector. It has a number of addons that can be used for restaurant management, table booking/appointments, invoicing, team management, and more.

Square also provides a website building platform that allows easy synchronization to the rest of the platform.

Phase one of the website was to get something up and running with a menu, a what’s on page and general info about the pub.

Phase two is to add a table booking system. This can be done through Square Appointments, but it is also possible to embed a third-party table booking platfrom into the site.

Phase 3 is to begin offering online ordering of food for take-away and delivery. Because the ordering system is fully integrated with their menu, it is simple to manage just one system that does everything.

While you get less customisation of the look and feel of a site, the powerful functionality wins.
