IN 2026, Gmail will withdraw support for collecting your domain email address from your host server via POP. If you have been doing this for years, it feels like a blow. But in fact there is a hack to get around this and still use your Gmail inbox to manage your domain emails and it only takes a few seconds to set up.
The way it works is instead of connecting to your domain mailbox via PO, you can just set up an EMAIL FORWARDER to your domain email. This ensures all email sland in your inbox.
You already have your emails configured to SEND AS your domain email and so you don’t even need to set this up.
How to switch to email forwarder.
- First, ensure your host has added an email forwarder to your Cpanel account.
- Log in to Gmail and go to Settings
Click the gear icon in the top right corner.
Select See all settings from the drop-down menu.

- Click “Accounts and Import” in the menu at the top.
- go to the CHECK EMAIL FROM OTHER ACCOUNTS section. You should see your current email listed.
- Hit DELETE next to the settings.

That’s it!
Because you already have the email set up for SEND AS you don’t need to do anything else.
It’s a good idea to send yourself an email (from your Gmail address to your DOMAIN address) to make sure it is getting through- and hit reply to ensure the email is replying using your domain email.
